New York City is known for making its mark on real estate with buildings like the Plaza Hotel, Rockefeller Center, The Empire State Building, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. However, several areas and districts have deteriorated resulting in urban developers investing millions of dollars in restructuring. Some of those investors are: Foster & Partners, L&M Development Partners, Drake Design Associates and Joe Sitt. New York is well known for attracting celebrities and being a location for several films. Bruce Willis, Jon Bon Jovi, Sarah Jessica Parker and Michael Meyers are just a few longtime residents of New York.

There are several innovators paving the way for other successful New York City urban developers. Norman Foster is the chairman and founder of Foster & Partners and a Pritzker Prize winning architect. He has defined cityscapes and metropolises using his five-decade long experience. He redesigned significant cultural institutions like the Smithsonian and the British Museum.

Vladislav Doronin has been called the “Donald Trump of Russia.” He founded the Moscow based firm Capital Group in 1991. Doronin is so successful, he is worth over $1 billion. Currently, his portfolio includes over 70 luxury commercial and residential projects all over the world. In New York City, he partnered with Michael Shvo and purchased floors 4-24 of the Crown Building on Fifth Avenue.
Soo K. Chan is the founding principal and design director of SCDA Architects. Chan graduated from Yale is a developer, interior, product and landscape designer. He has built a luxury resort in Bali and a residential tower in Kuala Lumpur. He is currently making his debut in New York designing the Soori High Line on West 29th street.

Aby Rosen is the co-founder of RFR Holding who is the owner of the Lever House and the Seagram Building. He is planning on completely renovating the Four Seasons restaurant. He has ownership stake in the Paramount hotels and NYC’s Gramercy Park.
