Camana Bay Rings in the New Year in Style

The people of Camana Bay celebrated the turning of the year with good parties, good entertainment and good fun. The celebration that took place in one of Grand Cayman’s fun town centers went on for hours and offered entertainment for all ages.

The festivities began at 7 pm with an elaborate fireworks presentation. Spectators arrived early for the show, and then watched as the bright display zigged and zagged across the Caribbean sky.

Some brought along prepared picnics, while others dined beforehand at one of Camana Bay’s tasty restaurants. The best Grand Cayman dining options that evening included restaurants such as Abacus, with its contemporary Caribbean cuisine, and Ortanique, which offers an innovative twist on local food. Other onlookers took to the dance floor, where their moves were accompanied by the festive musical styles of DJ Selecta Renegade.

Some party goers took the opportunity to check out some of Camana Bay’s favorite retail stores. The popular West Indies Wine Company was open until midnight, giving patrons one last chance to buy something bubbly for when the clock struck midnight. Others stores such as The Mansion, The Music Box and Soles Shoe Salon also stayed open late, serving shoppers as they purchased last minute holiday gifts or the perfect party ensemble.

While the early festivities were kid-friendly, the adults were given a chance to cut loose later that night. The “No Resolutions” party began at midnight, and was accompanied by yet another round of fireworks. These adult-only festivities lasted until 1:30am, at which point even the heartiest party goers threw in the towel.

This wasn’t the only place to party in Grand Cayman on New Year’s Eve. People who wanted to celebrate the end of 2015 with a view of the beach attended the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort party. This seaside soiree featured live music, great food and a seemingly unlimited supply of champagne. The party continued into the first of January, with a decadent champagne brunch held on the beach.

Camana Bay was yet again one of the hottest spots to ring in the New Year in the Cayman Islands. Locals and visitors came together to celebrate New Year’s Eve with festivities that provided fun for all.
