The AUSA conference, more than just a business exhibition
The Association of the US Army, AUSA is a non-profit organization that deals with educating and support of America’s Army including their family members and other concerned citizens. The vision of the organization is to be the voice of American soldiers. AUSA normally holds annual meetings that take three days to update participants on the current state of the Army. The Army uses this forum to educate soldiers and brief them on what is currently impacting them. The Army also presents several industry-specific products and services that are currently in use around the world. Key leaders from the DoD, Army, and Congress also present about the future of both the Army and the national defense. Issues pertaining Army families are also addressed in this forum. A family readiness stand is always present to support military families who are in need.
Melwood Veterans Services LLC was an exhibitor at the AUSA 2017 conference. They deal with supporting veterans in overcoming physical and emotional challenges that are related to post-traumatic stress and brain injuries. Through their services, war veterans receive employment, career development, and reintegration into the community assistance. Melwood was formed after it was noted that some of the warfighters had difficulties in reintegrating into the civilian world successfully. These veterans can receive the support required to proceed with their professional and personal lives comfortably. Leadership training is also done to boost their work-related skills.
Homeless Veteran Outreach was formed by the Department of Veteran Affairs, VA which is also another exhibitor at the AUSA conference. The focus on eliminating the homeless veterans from the society. This is in line with former President Lincoln’s promise to Americans; to always serve and honor the men and women who have fought for the country. VA has a “no wrong door” policy that is aimed at ensuring all veterans have access to programs and services that are aimed at keeping them out of the streets once they return home. The VA is committed to providing the best support services to veterans, their families, and other beneficiaries.
SourceAmerica was also involved in the AUSA 2017 conference. The organization deals with job creation for those who are living with disabilities. They are well connected to organizations around the country who are well known for employing talented individuals who are living with disabilities. SourceAmerica believes that every person has a right to meaningful employment as long as they are willing to work. Since inception, they have managed to assist nearly 115,000 people who are living with disabilities to find meaningful jobs.
